Corporate Social Responsibility
At GCA, we take Corporate Social Responsibility very seriously and try to support as many community activities as possible. We understand it is just one facet of being responsible in business from a company that believes that responsible business should be at the core of a company’s programmes and strategies, not a bolt-on to operations. GCA implements initiatives and programmes to improve the positive impact, not just minimise their negative impact.

We are members of Prohelp, a national network of professional firms who give their time and expertise for free to community groups and voluntary organisations. Through Derbyshire ProHelp, we have undertaken a number of different projects for a variety of community organisations. Feedback has shown that our staff really enjoy working on ProHelp projects, because the job satisfaction they receive from knowing that their expertise has made a tangible difference to a charitable organisation is immense. Last year ProHelp members made a difference to over 1,600 community groups and voluntary organisations by providing £2.5m worth of free professional advice and support. www.prohelp.org.uk
GCA is actively involved with local schools and see this as essential to encourage and foster excitement in a career in Civil Engineering. Our engineers give talks to students in schools and are involved in the Construction Week with DEBP.
We run a work experience programme for local schoolchildren, with the opportunity of a job with the company for the most talented youngsters.
GCA actively encourages and supports all staff to be involved in their local communities and Business Communities. We also support our staff and customers in their fundraising events too.
