Mike Speak, director of the Worcester office, attended a special preview on 1 May 2009 at Bewdley Museum prior to its official re-opening following six months of exciting improvements.
Mike was GCA’s project manager for the project which included new cafe and toilet facilities, and the refurbishment and conversion of an old saw mill into museum workshops.
Mike worked closely with Adrian Hutt Architects to produce a scheme which blended into the existing features and buildings, on a site with challenging ground conditions.
The new cafe was built partly off the 2 No existing brick boundary walls in the corner of the site in an area of ancient brick vaulted culverts.
