Congratulations to Shane Martin our Road Safety Engineer Team Leader who has achieved membership of the Society of Road Safety Auditors in addition to his membership of the Institution of Highways and Transportation.

SoRSA represents an exiting initiative by the Institution of Highways and Transportation in providing a home for the development of professional highway safety auditing best practice.

Shane comments “Being accepted as a Member of the Society of Road Safety Auditors (MSoRSA) not only demonstrates that professionals within this specialist area of work have approved my qualifications, skills, experience and training as surpassing their in depth criteria beyond the requirements of HD19/03. It also demonstrates GCA's commitment to ensuring that their staff are trained to high professional standards and that they attend events which keep them up to date with issues, research, networking and discussions between professionals which regularly encounter similar issues.

SoRSA has been established by the IHT as a response to a growing call from professionals operating in the field of safety auditing and safety engineering practice in the UK for a forum to exchange best practice and importantly to provide advice and ultimately routes to professional recognition for safety auditing practitioners.
